To promote high standards of Hospice and Palliative Medicine practice;

To promote the training and education of physicians in Hospice and Palliative Medicine;

To promote research, scholarly activities and disseminate new ideas in Hospice and Palliative Medicine;

To encourage the establishment of Hospice and Palliative Medicine services in medical centers and academic institutions;

To increase public awareness about Hospice and Palliative medicine, and

To undertake such other programs and activities as may be proper to promote and enhance the above purposes.
PSHPM maintains and supports the largest growing network of trained and certified hospice and palliative medicine (tertiary level) specialists, and physician providers of primary and secondary level hospice and/or palliative care in the country.
